The Cicada Artist

" I‘m a Dragon Princess with Koala as my Animal Familiar and my unique moniker is „The Cicada Artist“. And this result came as a total surprise to me (and a friend who played „guess what Kati will give me“ with me the days before the announcement). I guessed the quadrant right by myself, but I actually dismissed DP and Koala because while I really liked these two, I just couldn‘t see myself in the descriptions before.

Just a few words about the questionnaire Kati sends out to her customers first: It takes a little work on your behalf, yes, but it‘s absolutely worth it. I have no personal experience with other stylists, but from what I‘ve heard/read they don‘t ask the things Kati does, not in this extent. The questionnaire basically asks (and maybe softly challenges you in some parts) to think and tell about who you are, what you like, what you need. Kati really tailors everything to you in such a unique way that it feels rather like a colorful landscape of possibilites instead of just any system! I actually was so inspired by working on the questions, that I found out new things about me during the process!

There‘s just so much to love about Kati‘s vision for me! I love how she both gives me a safe base from where to start, items I feel familiar with (and items I could buy right away within my budget) and challenges me to step a bit outside my comfort zone and style rut – in a fun way! For example: As a Dark Winter (with a Goth past), it was too easy for me to default back to black when lazy, or stay within the gothy DW no brainers – and it honestly became boring. I now have a fun challenge at hand, with my new palette actually containing nearly none of those colors I‘m used to (the little black dot is actually a very dark plum) - another big surprise!

I still can see very easily how to reconcile this new idea with my old style for the transition, which is another big bonus point! I also love the strength and empowerment oozing from this board, without loosing any of my natural playfulness. I‘m 29, but most people guess me 10-15 years younger than I am – I‘m both a little frustrated and amused about that fact (I also have this little hobby of mine of getting kid/youth tickets to museums, hehe, because what‘s the use if I‘m not having a little fun??).

I love the idea of having the power of a queen paired with the unusual feminine strength of Frida Kahlo and playful lush flowers and embroideries paired with the quirky idea of insect inspired jewelry (how could Kati ever know that I secretly have a sweet spot for insect jewelry/motives but never dared to actually buy me some??). It seems I finally have my personal playground to both feel more my age and still keep it light and fun! Don‘t get me wrong, I don‘t have a problem with people finding me so adorable all the time, but I feel very flattered and a little bit honored to have a different vision offered to me, that Kati actually sees something beyond the cute facade I personally didn‘t even knew was there.

There are really so many details I love about Kati‘s vision and the board: I love the earthy opulence, the folkloric elements, the quirky cicadas and scarabs, the cuts and the color theme. So much inspiration and new things to try! It‘s not impossible that the first item I need to buy might actually be a flower crown!"

The Misty Serpent Speaker

" I decided to get an analysis with Kati because I thought the fantastical angle was intriguing and refreshing. Kati asked for some of my favourite things in a questionnaire and I really loved that she was able to incorporate some of them in the vision she had for me. It made it easy for me to connect with the analysis on a deeper level.

After I had given the necessary material for her to analyze, I received a recording with a thorough head to toe explanation of the look she had in mind. I loved listening to the recording not only because everything was well explained, but also because you could hear her enthusiasm and dedication and it made me feel special. It felt like I was listening to a good friend that cared deeply for me.

After processing the recording, I had a few more specific questions and she gladly answered them thoroughly and in detail. I truly appreciated this because to me that is a real sign of trying to provide the best service possible. The Pinterest board that she made for me was visually really beautiful and it captured the essence of my type very well. Overall I can highly recommend getting an analysis with Kati."

The Serene Butterfly Priestess

"I gave myself the most wonderful gift recently: a Fantastical Beauty Style analysis, the artistic vision of the gorgeous Kati Clysm. We each find our true style 'home' in various ways & with the words of a variety of stylists/friends. I've gotten a lot of good ideas from people over the years yet felt like I was forever wandering around the labyrinth, close to but never finding my center. With much thanks to Kati, I feel like I'm home. ❤

In The Fantastical Beauty system, I am Nymph leaning Fae. ❤❤❤ In Kati's words, "Your lines alone would land you solidly in Nymph, but taking into account personality and other factors pushes you heavily toward Fae. Your secondary influence is the light, ethereal, and elegant side of Fae. You can choose bring in the cheekier, more mischievous side as well, but smaller touches will be more effective. There is a tinkling quality to even the most somber of Fae, and those influenced by the type. Nymph gives you a base of earthy sensuality, and Fae pushes it from languid into ethereal; from earth floating up into the air."

I was blown away by the comprehensiveness of her work - a detailed questionnaire starts things off (and that in itself got my mind into interesting spaces). She gave specific recs re: clothing lines, fabrics, prints, silhouettes, details, and accessories. I have struggled with footwear & outerwear, and those were addressed fully. I begged for silhouette ideas, and I am soooo happy with Kati's vision for me. She also talked of hair, makeup, my overall 'look', and additional details to help me get the feel of my place in that center space of 'home'. Her write-up included polyvore visuals, collage, and she created a Pinterest board for me that I look at every day, sometimes several times a day, because I am so in love with it & it inspires me. ❤ She intends to add to it, as she finds items, and so will I .

Having spent way too much time banging my head against a wall regarding color, Kati's color palette suggestion for me is invaluable! She encouraged me to tweak & interpret, as I did not see her in person, and yet I find her tight choices of colors & neutrals to be -oh - perfection. 😍

Kati responded to every question I had, and I love her vision for me. Her words put a loving perspective on my struggles & body insecurities. I feel I've been given this incredible gift, and I can't thank her enough. She envisions me as a Serene Butterfly Priestess. I'm honored.❤"

The Starlit Harpy

I am thoroughly pleased with my Fantastical Beauty analysis. My love of sparkle and glam (No surprise for a Dragon Princess!) often felt at odds with my uber-casual lifestyle. Kati was able to seamlessly merge the two and allow me to shine, even while hiking with my dogs or watching Netflix at on the couch. The visuals she provided - individual Pinterest Board and outfit sketches in the guide - continue to be immensely helpful. I'm also really grateful for the time Kati took to answer all my questions and clarify her vision for me after the analysis. Thank you, Fairy Godmother!!

The Literary Garden Fairy

It has been a true delight collaborating with Kati in figuring out my personal style! I worked with her long distance. Based on a very thorough (and fun!) questionnaire, photos, and a video clip - she identified my fantastical beauty type (Fae! Garden fairy subtype!), as well as my Base 5 type (Spirited Linear).

As if that weren't enough - she went on to ID my personal color palette, create a pinboard for me that synthesized all her wardrobe ideas + an audio recording of her thoughts, and provided me with unique styling and cut recommendations based on my body type and measurements. It was great fun - and I was amazed at how accurate she was in describing me, and my energy, and what does (and does not) work for me.

She opened my eyes to possibilities I hadn't considered. She even talked me into cutting my hair much shorter- and it was such a good idea! Kati has a special ability to "see" people - not just their forms, but their spirit and energy - and bring that to life through fashion and fantasy. On top of that, she is incredibly generous answering questions and educating clients about color, shape, and so on. I can't recommend working with her highly enough! It has been a sincere pleasure.

The Dusky Belle

I'm so impressed with Kati's work with my style consultation. I love having a fantasy creature and animal to call "my own", and I love the idea of being a "Soul Guardian" subtype. The styles and colors she chose for me were so luscious and pretty--they felt familiar, yet also have a new, fresh feeling that will be exciting to explore in my own personal style. I loved working with her, she really delves in deep to understand who you are as a person, and even brings in elements of what you already love. She works with such a unique "system" of style that I have never seen before, it's just genius, and I just love the fantastical, artistic element. I've felt very connected to my style archetype of Angel, and angels are very special to me now that I have that connection. It's brought me a lot of comfort! Thank you so much, Kati!
