Shopping while pregnant is much less fun, but it has slowed down my spending and I’ve instead spent hours in my closet sorting and evaluating what I most often wear and which pieces could use upgrading.
I like having a minimum of two winter coats- one neutral and one in a happy color. My third winter coat is a print which might be a bit much for most people, but I’ve really enjoyed having a print coat as an option, and have had more compliments over the years on the print coats (even subtle) than even the lovely colored coats which also make people smile. My neutral coat served me for a decade and had seen better days, so I cleaned it up and donated it, and now have my eye on this Allsaints one which is the same cut and style but higher quality.
The boots I’ve already purchased and been wearing despite it still being a bit too warm to be comfortable. Simple moto boots have been a wardrobe staple of mine for as long as I can remember, and I wore my last pair into the ground. I thought I would be investing in a pair of Frye boots this year, but when I tried these on, I didn’t want to take them off. They aren’t Frye quality, but I’m hoping they surprise me by lasting a few years.
I need a plain gray scarf. As you know, I seem to have an abundance of statement items and always am lacking basics to mix in- a bit of a magpie when it comes to being distracted by shiny or patterned or otherwise loud things. This scarf at Aritzia isn’t quite what I’m looking for- the shade of gray is nice though I’d also go darker, and I like how wide/big it is, but I prefer square as a shape and no fringe. I do want natural fabrics and a smooth finish.
The blouse is the perfect shade of midnight green and though it won’t fit for another few months (I’m due mid January), I’m keeping an eye on it and thinking about ordering it anyway.
Because I’m not having quite as much fun with clothing as usual, I’ve been more focused on having lovely bath and body items, and this multi use soap is next on my wishlist. I’ve never tried Philosophy products though I’ve always been curious. I like the idea of being able to wash my hair with it and use it as a mild bubble bath.
