The leggings are super silky with a bit of sheen and shouldn't pill or fade. Gorgeous. Happy. They move well and I can do all of my exercises, errands, sleeping and other legging activities in them with ease. They have enough stretch, but they aren't made as a super dense very stretchy knit like some of my more expensive leggings, which really only matters when you're choosing sizing. In the stock photos, it looks like they might be a cotton blend, which personally I wasn't into. If you read the product info tab, you learn that they're a poly/elastane blend, which is what I prefer (no pilling!).
The sizing chart isn't extensive in either range of sizes (frustrated for my plus size friends- I want them to be able to wear my designs too, and choose from all of the awesome art from artists around the world for their leggings. We should all poke Redbubble about expanding their size range).
Based on the size chart, I chose an XS- I'm a US 2/4 in bottom so it seemed a safe bet. While they fit, I'll be sizing up and ordering a S next time. I don't like any clothing to be so tight that it leaves indentations on my skin- I'm one of those people who cuts out all of the tags on clothing so they don't rub on my skin, so this might be a just me thing. I also usually choose XL in tights for this reason- they aren't baggy, they just aren't as sausage casing tight! Sizing up a little also creates less stretching distortion in a print when you're wearing the leggings. Some prints look just fine stretches out, and I think that applies to my jungle plant print, but it might not work so well with others.
Too Sheer? My Tip.
While I didn't find advice on sizing or talk of quality in the very few reviews I found, I did find a complaint or two about white/light prints or print sections being see-through. This wasn't an issue with the pair I ordered, BUT I wanted to say for anyone out there who encounters this with any make of leggings (I had a white Black Milk pair with this problem... btw, the quality of Redbubble seems exactly the same as Black Milk at a significantly lower price), find a pair of convertible tights in a color close to your skin color and put them on first, under your leggings. Voila! No see-through worries. If you choose a lightweight tight/nylons, it's no added heat in hot weather, and if you choose a fleece-y pair, you can add warmth to leggings in cold weather.
High Rise and Low Rise
One of the things I had no idea about when I ordered was the rise. I was surprised when I put them on and found the waistband came all the way up to my natural waist. I only have one other pair of leggings that almost come up as high and were marketed as high waist :P Luckily, it's really each to roll or scrunch the waistband down and turn them into low rise leggings. I just like having the option, you know? It will depend on what I'm doing and what else I'm wearing if I'd prefer high or low rise.
I also ordered a scarf in my Flamingos are For Lovers print. I really wanted flamingo leggings, but when it came to ordering time, I went with a scarf so I could bring my flamingos with me no matter what I'm wearing. The scarf is very silky and slightly sheer. The detail of the print is really nice. Oh, and the scarf is HUGE. See me over there? I'm 5'8.5" tall. Yeah. I'm thinking of trying it as a swimsuit cover up dress sarong kind of thing. You can see in the first image that I've already tried it as a crop wrap over a bandeau.
Honestly it's terrible that my Redbubble order turned out so well, because now I want ALL THE THINGS. Sigh. My next planned artwork is to start on fantasy paintings- mermaids and more! Fun cartoon-y motifs for all Fantastical Beauty types or just lovers of fantasy. Watch as my style on the blog turns into all leggings all the time... just kidding! (I think...)
